About Sound Alchemy

Sound Alchemy is a 5-member Chinese rock band from Singapore. We began our journey on 11th September 2001.

Starting out as five perfect strangers with a common interest in music and vision, we bonded quickly and

forged strong relationships with each other.

 

Milestones

Since our debut performance at Youth Park in October 2002, each gig we performed in is a cherished experience.

The most memorable ones are those at Esplanade where we performed at the same events with other Chinese rock

bands such as Retro Groove, HeiBao, and LGF. Other proud Sound Alchemy moments include the recording of our

demo in July 2002 as well as making it into the finals of Exxon-Mobil Songs 2002 competition. The most treasured

achievement to date is the release of our debut album – ‘Time’ in 2006. This album is a major milestone for

Sound Alchemy and is the precious product of our efforts as a band.

"Enough" is selected into the finals of the Exxon-Mobil Songs 2002 and the band performs on 30 Nov 02 at Youth Park. Although Sound Alchemy did not clinch any prizes, being one of the finalists motivates the band to work even harder

Sound Alchemy performs at Youth Park for the event - Xin Lang, together with local bands such as Amber, Pluck & Play, and Brinjal

*Sept 02*
Yamaha Band Alert Heats. Army Half-Marathon gets in the way of Adrian booking out. Hence, Sound Alchemy passes on its chance at the heats.Sound Alchemy submits 2 songs from their demo to Exxon-Mobil Songs 2002 competition. The songs are In My Heart (Xin Li Hai You Ni) and Enough (Gou Le)

Sound Alchemy registers for Yamaha Band Alert

Sound Alchemy records its first demo of 4 originals at TNT studio, engineered by Mr Wong (Ah-Boy)

Sound Alchemy's first retreat. 3 days 2 nights are spent at Amara Hotel, watching World Cup 2002 matches and discussing about band-related issues
